ARMORY SHOW NYC 2010

I've been to many Armory shows and found myself becoming discouraged with that show.  Mainly because it seemed like the booths that had less of a name were just all really pushing the same artists, opposed to featuring young new artists.  But this one was very encouraging.  With loads of new art, a lot of painting and figurative work, I really enjoyed my Sunday afternoon.

Artist Lecture at Jersey City Art School: Glenn Friedel

Wednesday, March 3, 8-9:30

Artist Glenn Friedel discussed his life-size cameraless, non-digital, photographic images--beautiful and haunting photograms that are created by having a live model lie on photo-sensitive paper with exposure to different kinds of light. He attempts to capture the beauty of the human form and the positivism we all have within us. He will focus on the process, imagery, symbolism, and resulting image.
